Margam Energy from Waste
A £160M, 40MW renewable-energy power station in South Wales. An enormous wood chip silo, boiler, turbines, transformers and switch rooms export electricity directly to the national grid at 132kV, via an on-site sub-station.
Working with BMS and energy management specialists, Aimteq, Red Rock Electrical undertook the installation of this vast building’s complex building management system, installing many miles of control and signal cabling. 4 control panels send and receive information and instructions to heat recovery units, supply and extract ventilation, air-conditioning, smoke and fire dampers, water pumps and boosters, energy meters, temperature sensors, sprinklers, dust suppression systems, tank alarms and the like, ensuring smooth and efficient operation of the building services systems at all times.
